This exclusive journey includes a visit to the Monument To the Origin of Miyamizu, Nishinomiya Shrine, and SakuraMasamune Memorial Hall, Sakuraen for sake tasting, which is followed by a sake pairing course at Matsunoya, a distinguished Kobe restaurant. You will begin at Miyamizu Garden, where wells of the sacred water known as Miyamizu are clustered, followed by a visit to the Monument To the Origin of Miyamizu. Then you will proceed to Nishinomiya Shrine, revered nationwide for the deity of fortune, where you can experience the history of Nada’s sake brewing and its ties to Shinto rituals. Next, at SakuraMasamune Memorial Hall, Sakuraen, learn about traditional sake brewing through precious historic footage and exhibits while tasting a diverse set of labels at sake bar Sanbaiya to experience sake’s depth through differences in flavor, aroma, and finish.
Finally you will visit Matsunoya, a historic Kobe restaurant with a distinguished legacy. Enjoy creative Japanese cuisine featuring seasonal ingredients, specially paired with SakuraMasamune sake. Through conversation with fourth-generation proprietress Marie Udono, you will additionally get to experience traditional Japanese restaurant culture, hospitality, and and culinary heritage.

- Nada’s sake brewing has been recognized as a Japan Heritage site and is the nation’s premier sake region. In addition to experiencing SakuraMasamune’s contributions to sake development and technical innovation, visit the concentration of wells and monuments in Nishinomiya City where Miyamizu̶discovered by SakuraMasamune’s sixth-generation head̶originated. Then worship at Nishinomiya Shrine, which houses the Umenomiya Shrine dedicated to the sake deity that has been deeply revered by Nada Gogo brewers for generations.

- Matsunoya, a historic establishment in Kobe’s Kitano district, preserves Kobe’s traditional restaurant culture. A special pairing course is offered featuring select Hyogo ingredients such as Kobe beef (one of Japan’s three great wagyu), satoyama vegetables, and fresh Setouchi seafood, paired with SakuraMasamune’s finest sake. Experience Kobe’s premier restaurant tradition through the warm hospitality of fourth-generation proprietress Marie Udono and senior proprietress Yoko Udono.
