Kinryo sake has been offered to Kotohira-gu Shrine as sacred sake. At the museum and cultural hall at Kinryo no Sato, you can learn about traditional sake brewing techniques and history through priceless exhibits. The major appeal is experiencing the spirituality and dedication behind sake brewing through interaction with brewery staff.
Worship at Kotohira-gu Shrine, Famous for PilgrimagesPlan B Only
During the Edo period (Japan’s early modern era, 1603–1868), when commoner travel was severely restricted, the only permitted journeys were pilgrimages to temples and shrines. Worship at Kotohira-gu Shrine was especially popular alongside Ise Jingu, drawing deep connections with literati, artists, and Kinryo. Walk through the shrine and discover the historical culture that endures in this land.
