This exclusive experience combines traditional sake brewing and history at Kamoizumi Shuzo, a stroll through Saijo’s historic townscape, and a Japanese cuisine and sake pairing course at Hanbe, a renowned restaurant known for its Japanese garden and seasonal cuisine.
At Kamoizumi Shuzo, discover sake brewing and culture through lectures by fourth-generation proprietor Kazuhiro Maegaki, followed by tastings of signature labels. The experience continues with a walk along Saijo Sakagura-dori Street, lined with venerable breweries, and a visit to Matsunoo Shrine, where the deity of sake is enshrined, offering insight into Saijo’s sake heritage and living history.
The journey concludes at Hanbe, located about 20 minutes by car from JR Hiroshima Station and Peace Memorial Park. Admire an expansive Japanese garden spanning over 3,300 square meters, created by three generations of the renowned Shigemori family, then savor a seasonal kaiseki and sake pairing course by Executive Chef Mitsuru Kawamura, a recipient of the Contemporary Master Craftsman award.

  • Explore Matsunoo Shrine in the grounds of Mitake Shrine while strolling along Saijo Sakagura-dori Street, where historic sake breweries are scattered.*Mr. Maegaki will not accompany the townscape stroll.

Stroll through the celebrated garden passed down across three generations from legendary landscape designer Mirei Shigemori, experiencing Japanese aesthetics firsthand, before savoring kaiseki that embodies masterful craftsmanship, paired with sake.
